Cox's Bazar is the

Sonargaon
In the medieval period,
Sonargaon was the old capital of Bengal. It was a mint capital beside Gaur.
Although the heritage of the old capital is gone, there is still something interesting
to spend a day in Sonargaon. The main attraction for visiting Sonargaon is the
abandoned trading town of Panam Nagar. Built in the colonial period, this was a
city of wealthy Hindu traders who fled to India after the partition in the
subcontinent during riots. Someday they wanted to return, which never happened.
It is now a completely abandoned town with 52 houses built on one street. Other
